One Million Players! — An Update from the Federation — 29th April
One Million Explorers in the Metaverse
The Federation is pleased to announce the passing of the one million player threshold today! At the time of this writing, the number of total players is 1,003,306. Nearly two hundred thousand Explorers have mined within the last 24 hours!
Welcome new explorers and congratulations on your exploration, to those who continue to travel and mine. The Federation is very excited to see so many new explorers getting involved in Alien Worlds.
We welcome everyone, and aim to have great new adventures and functionality coming online over the next few months, while evolving and improving the Metaverse.
Such a growth is not without challenges, and the Federation is continuously reviewing the impact on the metaversal economy. In order to preserve balance, and fairness, in the Metaverse, changes to game dynamics, services, and fees are planned.
With respect to this, explorers must understand that they are within a dynamic space where things will change.
Shining
One such area now under review is shining. The price of shining is now prohibitively expensive and therefore preventing this mechanism from functioning. Shining is an important service available to players and it should be accessible, especially as the Federation plans to introduce shining of weapons and minions. So although shining will remain a service priced at a premium level to reflect the rarity of the cards created through it, the price of shining will be significantly reduced.
The Federation is running simulations of appropriate new price levels, based upon the perceived benefit of the service, and will update the community on results soon.
Captcha
The Federation is also trying to address the common challenges which explorers have been raising over the last two weeks. One challenge has been the frequent captchas, which were introduced by WAX to the WAX Cloud Wallet.
This has impacted user experience, so we have been working closely with the WAX team have captcha frequency set to achieve the best balance of user experience and bot minimisation. We have also intensified our already extensive efforts to fight bots, whilst continuing to endeavour to ensure players are not banned unnecessarily.
Teleport
The Teleport functionality (https://teleport.alienworlds.io) has been an extremely popular feature and over 25,000 distinct teleports of TLM have been completed in the last 2 weeks. Some users have complained that their TLM has got stuck for 2 or 3 days and while these are rare cases, the Federation is keen to make sure this works well for all users.
Remember that you do need gas on the BSC or ETH side of the teleport and that it may well take a few minutes for oracles to sign the teleport. CPU
While WAX, and the WAX Cloud Wallet, does allow for a generous number of free transactions per day, CPU is not an unlimited resource. As such, an explorer may find that they do not have enough CPU to mine. In this case, the explorer has two choices —
A) wait for the CPU allocation to refresh, which can take a day or so, or
B) stake a small amount of CPU using WAX on the WAX Cloud Wallet at wallet.wax.io (at time of writing, CPU costing 2 WAX would give a fair amount of extra transactions).
